Type: This is an activity.
Appearance: This is something that you like to do in your spare time; such as collecting stamps, fishing, climbing mountains and so on.
Place: You can find people enjoy doing this in their spare time.
Use: Some people might spend great sum of money for this, others will make many frends with this.

長く楽しめる趣味は、人生の宝ですね。

履歴書などの「趣味」の欄って、何書いたらいいんでしょうね（笑）。COBUILDの用例を見ていると、野外活動も室内活動もいずれもオッケーのようです。
